It is January 26th fellow sledders… and a fresh load of nice thick snow has blanketed the Iron Range. Depending on where you stand/ride we received 5-6-7- even 10″ of wonderful snow so sledding is on as we’re now in full swing. Rest assured our groomers have taken to “ALL” the trails and they’ll smooth a path for you like no other.
We’re also in that time of year where daylight keeps gaining ground and the temps become more and more manageable so come visit us… ride, dine, dance… and laugh… we’ll be waiting.
Ride safe, ride right (to the right side of the trail)

BLADE Snowmobiles

Chiming in here from the Eveleth Trailhawks snowmobile club, we have groomed the entire strecth of trail we have from Virginia to Eveleth and over to Gilbert, and south towards Cotton and the Duluth areas the trails are very ridable and there is about a 3 inch base, once we get the next snowfall we will be out making that smooth again for everyone to enjoy…

Attempted to ride the section of trail this Saturday afternoon starting from Eveleth heading south towards Cotton. Rode less than 10 miles and turned around. The trail was terrible. It would be helpful if folks could post more recent trail condition reports. I traveled 200 miles to the Iron Range to snowmobile in anticipation of encountering decent trails and was very disappointed.
Hello Chris:
I know exactly what section you’re referring to. This is a new section of trail that was cut in the fall, because of that there is still settling from stump removal and numerous smaller fallen tree limbs and such that needs more snow cover to smooth-en it out. I will say you turned around just a bit too little quickly. If you would have went another 1-2 miles it would have been near perfect as the trails further south of Eveleth have been there for several years now.
Chris, I will however, pass your thoughts to the Trail Hawks who maintain that trail system. They have accomplished a lot in a short time though I am sure they would want to know.
I was out Friday, Saturday and Sunday and was both east and west of Eveleth and it was excellent all three days.
